VN Working On Tighter Regulations

From VietNamNet Bridge in their article dated 1/7/09:

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem has requested that the relevant ministries and local authorities tighten administrative procedures relating to marriages between locals and foreigners, as well as other family matters such as adoptions.

According to the Government Office, the Deputy PM has tasked the Ministry of Justice with the drafting a document governing the adoption of Vietnamese children by foreigners for submission to the government in the first quarter of 2009.

Further clarification comes today (1/8) from Than Nien News:

The Ministry of Justice will submit measures to improve the processing of adoption by foreigners to the prime minister by the end of March and amendments to regulations on adopting foreign children by the end of June, according to the website statement.
