MN Senator Klobuchar urges VN Prime Minister to reopen adoptions

Senator Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn, recently visited Vietnam with Senators John McCain, R-Arizona, and Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina. During the visit, Senator Klobuchar addressed the issue of a new adoption agreement between the United States and Vietnam with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

An article in Minnesota’s Star Tribune says that Klobuchar called the meeting “a good first step toward addressing the situation” and said that the Prime Minister expressed his country’s desire to join the Hague Convention.
